Having a short period wont affect your ability to get pregnant, but you (and your partner) should make sure to cut back on caffeine, quit smoking if you smoke, give up any other drugs, eat healthy, excercise moderately, and go to the doctor for a check up/ physical. Beside that, have unprotected sex every other day to three days. (Two reasons for this- one, it gives the male a chance to 'replenish' his sperm, and the sperm can fertilize an egg within three days.)

On the face of it, making a baby seems rather simple. After all, the basic "how to" is probably something you've more or less been doing for some time now. Yet when it comes to the finely tuned sequence of events that must take place for conception to occur, there's plenty of room for foiled attempts — and confusion. "Because most women's cycles vary from month to month, it's no wonder most couples have some mistaken notions about predicting when ovulation will occur and when you're most fertile," says Allen Wilcox, M.D., chief of the epidemiology branch at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences.
Lack of knowledge doesn't always hamper your efforts, of course, but it can add unneeded frustration and delay. For instance, many women assume that the minute they stop using birth control, they'll conceive. Or that if becoming pregnant with their first child was a snap, things will go like clockwork the second time around. When it doesn't, they panic.
A visit to your gynecologist can help clear up some of the confusion. In fact, it's essential to visit your doctor before trying to conceive; you need to make sure you've had a German measles vaccine and that you're getting enough folic acid (both critical for preventing birth defects). Your doctor may also suggest testing for certain genetic diseases.
But since it's tough to get every last question answered (and sometimes even to know which ones to ask), our guide gives you the lowdown on baby-making — from the latest research to time-honored advice you can, in fact, forget.

I never had a regular period since I first got my period at age 11. For years I tried to get pregnant and nothing happened. But after not having my period for 2 months, I got one and and then didnt get one for another 9 1/2 weeks, so I made an appt. with my GYN and ran tests and low and behold, I was pregnant. So the days and timing aint so important as getting one is. Dont over stress yourself and make the goal for sex to be only to make a baby. If you continue to have problems and have the money or insurance to afford a Fertility doctor then make an appt and see where you can go next. Sometimes your enviroment or health can be a problem too, so rule out the obvious first. I was really over weight and lost 65lbs in 5 months when I found I was pregnant, I know ppl heavier then that and had kids but every body is different then the next body. So check with your GYN and maybe get a referral to a specialist and take it easy. Exercise, eat healthy, advoid cigarettes, alcohol and birth control while trying to concieve. Good luck and keep us posted please.

you can still pregnant, if you are having periods this means you are ovulating every month. You are most likely to get pregnant 7 to 10 days after you get off your period. So you need to do it like crazy from the 4th day to the 15th just to be sure. Try a ovulation test. Good Luck, and try not to concentrate on it to much or it will seem like it is taking forever. You are lucky, I don't have periods at all and it will be very hard for me to get pregnant again. Anyway before you know it, you'll be expecting your new bundle of joy.

even in spite of the indisputable fact that 5 months could appear like a protracted time. you basically had 5 opportunities to get pregnant. a guy's sperm count selection is going down if he ejaculates in many situations. according to probability all this sexual launch of his is what's weakening his sperm count selection. I used the rhythm approach to get pregnant and to steer away from being pregnant for 10 years, effectively. be attentive to your cycle. you assert you're "all perfect". great. Now. Mark on the calender the subsequent time you have your era. Then, count selection 14 days after your era starts and mark that on the calender. it extremely is in the process the twelfth to sixteenth day after your era which you're maximum fertile and that's once you are going to be having intercourse with the intention to conceive a toddler. i be attentive to it sounds extremely basic, yet it is how I have been given pregnant and likewise how I prevented getting pregnant. examine up on your physique's reproductive gadget and locate out your own own cycle. no could see a doctor only yet. All stable issues in time.

That should not be a problem, I only get mine for 3 days and I have two kids. Just relax and try not to stress about it. Remember to have sex two weeks from the first day of your period and try for three days in a row during that time.

You may want to ask your ob/gyn. But, I would recommend charting your basal body temp. It will help you know when you ovulate. Or, use ovulation detectors (get them cheap on ebay). If you know when you are about to ovulate you can work at baby making. You can get prego up to 5 days before you ovulate, up to the day or day after. My doctor recommended doing it on the 10th, 12th, 14th and 16th day of my cycle.
Good luck!
