No, I doubt they survive 5 more years.

They have become to filled with "merchants" nothing wrong with merchants, but their draw as a "auction community" is not as powerful as it once was.

When you are filled with commodity products, with everyone competing for the same market, then you aren't really offering anything unique and special any longer.

I'd love to see them survive, but I think they need to start splitting into divisions, and giving a cleaner experience to people who have actual "auction" items, and not overwhelmed by merchants doing "buy now".

The magic is gone.

Do you mean per se? And I don't even think that fits grammatically. But, I think that eBay will be more filled with fraud, it is a great idea, but some people always find ways to steal when there's money changing hands. I lvoe the idea, it is just poorly executed, I have bought many things from eBay, and I find it just like Christmas as a child, tearing open the box in the mail.

It will be, but like every thing else, it will change, they will find more and more ways to make the seller pay them more money, till it wont pay any more to list with them, GREED lots of GREED, and hopefully by then some one else will have a Auction site for the people again.
