But the manager who fired me broke some rules himself, like taking games out of the store before they were suppose to be released. Do you think this guy had the right to fire me when he was commiting worse acts than me?

Im not a crybaby. Im in high school, losing a job isnt the end of the world for me. If he didnt do anything wrong, i wouldnt have a problem being fired, ill go find another job easily. But fact that he did something worse than me and has the nerve to fire me. I just hate it when ppl set rules, and dont follow them themselves. Im sure the rest of you would be pissed off too.

by the wording of your details, it is apparent that you knew ahead of time that you were abusing your discount.
you can contact higher management, but unless you give solid proof, it will be your word against his, and not worth much.
however, you can contact them, tell them who you are and that you'd like to tip them off on other abuse
-i work in retail loss prevention, and most internal theft issues actually result in the person that lost their job giving away info on other people that were doing wrong as well
--------
now, you ask, how could he do that to you when he knows he was doing worse?
i'm guessing he was told to reduce his staff. or, it's possible he either didn't like you, or had someone else that he'd rather have the job than you
---------
in any event, contact higher management. if you don't have any numbers, go to the website that consumers use, and report it anonymously

That's the privilege of being a manager.
Is it right, no, but will he get away with it yes. If you report him you will be ignored, since you were fired and might have other motives. If a current employee reports it then only one report will also be ignored, that employee might just want to screw with the manager. Now if the entire store (ALL the employees) reportes it and if you had some sort of proof; like video tape of him taking new games out of the store before the release date, then you have a case. But, it won't get your job back. You should be protected under the "whistle blower laws", but if you are rehired then the manager will look for cause and fire you soon after.
I am sorry, but you got screwed by a poor manager. As we used to say in the Army, "Rank has it's privileges, and everyone else just gets screwed."

If you knew it was wrong to give the discount to your friend, then you deserved to fired no matter what you boss did. You broke the rules, so you have to pay the price. Just keep your mind on your own business and not other peoples and you will be fine. If he did wrong then go ahead and report him to the proper people. But what he did does not make what you did right at all. You have to be accountable for your own actions, you can't go blaming others for something that you did. In the end the only one you have blame is yourself.

you cant snitch on a snitch. Believe me It makes life a lot worse. Besides if he is the manager who are you gonna tell. Unless you are already good freinds with the one he answers to then you will be considered being rude for trying to talk to the man above him, you should have told on him before he told on you then you would have his job and you would be the one taking games out before release(at least till you got caught)

I really hate to say this, but letting someone use your discount is one of the first things they tell you not to do and is considered a terminatable offense. If you want to report your manager, you may either contact the district manager or the corporate headquarters.

To be honest I think he is wrong also. But, unless you have PROOF then no matter who you call nothing will be done. They will look at you like a hostile employee because you were fired. It sucks but thats how it goes in the real world. I know been there done that..

Just because he is doing wrong, more-so in your opinion, doesn't mean that you should get away with what you were doing.
Wrong is Wrong, It'ill come arround and bite you on the ...butt...
Sooner or laiter time will tell, you may not see it but it'ill come back on him sometime, even if it is on the otherside of life.
------
If you wanted your friend to get 15% off, get your friend to pay you and you buy the game for him, that should have been fine.

weak crybaby.
you got caught and the first thing you do is start pointing fingers.
did they explain the rules to you when you were hired,? yes. you knew. you broke the rules. that is what you did.right.
Like someone else said, if you knew he was wrong-you should have reported him, would be a different story you would be telling today, huh?
You have to learn from your mistakes, be a responsible adult(?) and quit crying.

If you don't like the guy, then call his boss and report him. Then tell him that he told you it was okay and that you would like to see if you can get your job back. You didn't know you weren't allowed to do it;)
