i started as a solitary practitioner and continue to do a lot of things as a solitary. my husband and i are also part of a local druid grove that is rather eclectic. we usually celebrate at the grove (which is in our priest's large backyard) by setting up a themed area in the front yard for the local children in midtown. we also get lots of kids whose parents bring them from all over town. one year we did renaissance artists, last year was pirates of the caribbean, this year will be alice in wonderland. it's great fun!! afterwards, we have ritual and honor our ancestors.
blessed be!

I hope to be celebrating it with my friends (one of which heads a local grove), with a bonfire, ritual, and feast.

On a solitary level (because on the 31st I shall be back at college and with classes *Test I cannot avoid... >.<'*) I plan to hold my own ritual after dark out in a nearby woods, and plan to set up an altar on my dresser top remembering loved ones who have passed on to the summerlands. I am eagerly awaiting this day, because that is one of the only times that Christina comes back and visits me (I miss her dearly and it helps me so much just to see her again, though I wish I could hug her, but you cannot hug a spirit *at least not on the physical plain*).

I hope (assuming we can get enough people together to do it) to have a retreat this year. We would like to rent two cabins (one for families and one for just adults) and have a three day event with lots of fun stuff for the kids, the usual rituals, bonfire, drumming, etc.

On the day though, I told my daughter she could have a trick or treat party and I'm going to make hot cider and light a fire and curl up with a mug. We'll have our family's feast of the dead the following evening. I can't interfere with Trick or Treating!

I will celebrate by wearing my garb, lighting my torches, passing out candy, and once I'm done with that, I will light a few candles, and say a few chants for the changing of the seasons. I am a solitary worshipper, and you?

I was hoping to have a couple friends get together like we did a couple years ago. A feast, ritual, and friendship. It was such a wonderful celebration! I can't wait til it comes around this year!

We'll welcome trick-or-treaters during the afternoon & early evening then gather with our Coven and celebrate the New Year in our outdoor ritual area.

After ritual, we'll move inside and share food, drink and stories 'til who-knows-when.

Blessed be.
