Try mixing some bleach, soft scrub, lysol spray, and a little water to dilute. I recommend keeping the room well ventilated. I live in a condo that was once being rented out, so I had a lot of moldy and stained grout in my bathroom shower. Give this mixture a good shake in a spray bottle and spray down the area and let it soak in, then give it a good rinse. Does the trick every time.

ALL-NATURAL "greenwise" and not so Green ways to clean tile grout: Best Suggestion I found is at Ask the Builder.com

Baking Soda. To clean grout, put 3 cups baking soda into a medium-sized bowl and add 1 cup warm water. Mix into a smooth paste and scrub into grout with a sponge or toothbrush. Rinse thoroughly and dispose of leftover paste when finished.

Plain bleach or special grout cleaners. If it is a bathroom floor with soap scum, then CLR or other soap scum remover is good.

If the vinegar doesn't do it or the bleach won't, try that new Oxy clean enzyme stuff on it. Failing that, you'll need to grind it our mechanically and re- grout. Personally, I would never want white grout on a floor because this is something to expect. If you ever get it clean, go the the tile store and buy some sealer to keep it that way and use it often.
You can get a hydrochloric acid based cleaner for grout based from Home Depot. I can't remember the brand name, but it worked great for me.Just pour it on, let it set for a few mins, then wipe it off. It cleaned my grout to a white shine again. Good luck

One thing you might try is using 3% Hydrogen Peroxide for your grout. It is used by dentists (at a much higher concentration) to bleach peoples teeth. It is safe non-toxic (as opposed to the HCL cleaner (very toxic) and some of the other brand name cleaners listed. It is cheap. It can be found at your local drugstore.
Try that and see how it works for you. You can always bring out the big-gun cleaners if all else fails. The hydrogen peroxide is a natural bleach so it should do nicely. Test a inconspictuous spot first as with any other cleaner.

Summary: Cleaning grout is a high priority for many homeowners who have ceramic tile floors. Even if a grout sealer has been used on the grout, dirt can easily get trapped in the rough sanded grout. You can clean grout now with non-toxic oxygen bleach. Mix this magic powder with water and simply pour it onto the grout. In the time it takes you to drink a vanilla soda, the grout will be ready for a very light scrubbing and final rinse. Oxygen bleach is color safe as well!

"Some of the chemicals you discovered in your search will work, but not the way you want them to. Chlorine bleach is a powerful oxidizer that can remove stains in floor tile grout. But it can also remove color. Chlorine bleach can damage nearby fabrics and rugs if it is accidentally applied to them. As you know, the fumes from chlorine bleach are highly irritating to many people and any pets you might have around your home. These fumes can be deadly to small birds as well. I have never had any luck with baking soda and vinegar only works well to dissolve hard water deposits that might buildup around sinks and dishwashers. Vinegar is not an effective floor tile grout cleaner.

The peroxide you mention is probably common liquid hydrogen peroxide. It can be an effective cleaner, but only if you can get the peroxide to release one of its extra oxygen ions. This is not always easy to do. Hydrogen peroxide has two atoms of hydrogen and two atoms of oxygen. If you can get it to release one of the oxygen ions, you get a free oxygen ion and regular water"

I would buy a product called Krudd Kutter, it is water based and it works. For stubborn stains leave it on longer. It shouldn't hurt the glaze on the tile, just be careful with whatever you use. other wise make a paste like mixture using water and dawn soap, put it on let it set, and get after it with a hard bristle tooth brush. It will remove all oil based stains, and most food stains.

* Use white toothpaste and an old toothbrush. The pumice in toothpaste is a sufficient abrasive.

** You can also apply some bleach with a toothbrush.
