**In spanish the word "padres" and "Hermanos" mean parents and brothers but in this case, parents might be translated to "our ancestors" and brothers might refer to the fact of considering all country men as brothers and sisters so you can edit it if you want.

Oh no ! your 2nd grader can say something in Spanish. Quick to the barricades !!! Honestly, English or Spanish she probably doesn't even know or care what it means. And if she did, saying it in one language or another would not alter its significance. One suspects that the real problem here is that you are afraid your daughter can say something in a language you don't speak. EDIT- Reading some of the other responses is good for a chuckle. Boy, am I glad I live in the real world outside the US of A. In my world speaking multiple languages is considered a good thing and is expected of anyone with a measurable IQ. You could, of course, make this particular problem go away by doing away with reciting the pledge in public classrooms....
