Will you tell me about the Sidekick and different versions and pros and cons?

Is there a monthly fee you have to pay each month? Do you have to pay it? If there is, I wouldn't be able to get it. :(

All I want this for is using AIM, Yahoo Messenger, and listening to music. Those are the main reasons I want it. It's like all in 1.
