A long time ago, I was engaged to a wonderful woman; unfortunately, she left me before the marriage, saying we "wanted different things in life" (which was true). I know she really left me because I was competitive, compulsive, jealous, and generally a pain in the ***. We have not spoken in almost 20 years and we are both married, have careers, happy lives, etc. Yet, I still feel really guilty about how badly I treated her and would like to apologize... I want to write and say "I realize how badly I treated you, and I'm sorry for hurting you." But, is it too late? And, would it even matter to her, or just stir up bad memories? I really need your help!!!

if you're both married and happy with your life then i guess there's no need to apologize. just add her in your prayers because if you'll write her there's a possibility of complicating things... GOD knows if you're sorry and just Bring it to GOD to avoid some misunderstanding...

It's NEVER too late! But keep it simple, just say that you are sorry. You want to keep in mind that her current husband might not feel respected, if you contact her w/ all the details and stories of your past together.

No it's not to late. I would do it right away and I'm happy that you understand that you made a mistake. You cant see this but I'm clapping for you...Most men won't admit to that.
