The fate of Backstreet Boys, NSync and other famous boy bands was quite same. They often came on the list of "?" are the gays??
But why? What makes people think that? And may be for this reason Boy Bands are losing popularity.
Even I heard that if a guy listens to a boy band song, he is made fun of as a gay! WHY?

Because, all boy bands know that their target audience is young women. So, they act like those young women would like their "perfect guy" to act like. That just happens to be how a LOT of gays act. Or, at least, how they are portrayed to act. Sure, they don't talk or sing with that silly lisp, but in most other regards, they "act" like a gay guy does. Thus, the only guy that would listen to them "must" be gay. After all, they aren't "manly", so they must be gay. Typical stereotyping from the society of today.

Hm... and yet, Britney Spears is straight away(ish). And punk song? No offense, yet i'd take Nysnc over inaudable screaming and noise any day. And hi! I loved the 90s! it is the male ego. There is not a man alive that would be caught listening to music that is soft and emotional. And that is way most boy bands are regarded as all gay. think about it. these boys eat together, sleep together, and spend ever single minuet together.they get make up put on to preform .And the lists goes on. And girlfriends are coverups. But love, them for who you think they are not for themselves. Sex sells if your guy or not.

Child, I'M gay and I just regard them as BOOORRRRING. The only gays who like them are called "chicken hawks" - guys who lust after young men [NOT to be confused with sick pedophiles who go after little boys & girls].
These bands are pitched to pre- and adolescent girls. After the girls grow up and lose interest, the bands fade. Just another example of a pre-fabricated pop "phenomenon."

It makes me very angry, but people often use the word "gay" or call something "gay" meaning that they think it's stupid. Lots of people like to make fun of boy bands, and they try to do that by calling them "gay". I hate it.

i used to like nsync & the backstreet boys, but then i noiced the new "style" new bands have out such as painting of the fingernails, girl hairstlyes, mascara....that made me think jus a lil bit. i guess thats why THEY think they are. but im not judgin a book by its cover.
