question A:
In order to determine what the value of ?, look at the denominator. 3 x ? will give you 15. That is 5. Multiple the numerator (2) by 5. The value for the unknown ? is 10.
question B:
five x something gives you 15. That value is 3. multiply the numerator (3) by 3. The value of the unknown ? is 9.
question C:
Looking at the denomintars , how many times does 3 go into 12. that would be 4. 8/4 is 2. Therefore value of unknown ? is 2

2/3 = 10/15 --- i did this by determining what the demoninator which is 3 was mutilpied by to get 15 to find that out i divide the 2nd denominator bythe first . the rule of fractions states that what ever to multiply the denomimnator by do the same to the numerator 15/3 would give you 5 so multiply 2*5 and you get 10
3/5 = 9/15 same thing 15/3 = 3 , 3*3 =9
2/3 = 8/12 ------ here it is diffrent you have to divide the second denominator by the fist like this ( 12/3 = 4 ) then didvide the numerator with the same value 8/4 = 2

3 times 5 is 15 so 2 times 5 is 10 so 10/15
5 times 3 is 15 so 3 times 3 is 9 so 9/15
3 times 4 is 12 so 2 times 4 is 8 so 2/3

a. 2/3=?/15
You must look at the denominator of both numbers. Select the larger and divide it by the smaller.
15/3=5
Multiply 2x5 to make numbers equivalent
2x5=10
answer to A is 10/15
b. same thing with this one.
15/5=3
3x3=9
answer to B is 9/15
c. and again this one
12/3=4
but this time, they didn't give you numerator for ?/3. so just think backwards. start with the bigger numerator and DIVIDE by 4
8/4=2
answer to C is 2/3

let the missing quantity be x
1) 2/3=x/15
take 15 to the other side and we cross-multiply to get
2/3*15=x
2*5=x
x=10
2)3/5=x/15
take 15 to the other side and we cross-multiply to get
3/5*15=x
3*3=x
x=9
3)x/3=8/12
first we make the problem simpler by simplify the right hand side
8/12=2/3
(as we divide the numerator and the denominator by 4)
so
x/3=2/3
taking the 3 to the other side we get
x=2/3*3
x=2
1)x=10
2)x=9
3)x=2
