As you all well know, only a few black people actually fit the stereotypes, so why pin such a stigma on all?

THEY put THEMSELVES in a bad light. and your "only a few" is WAYYYY off hoeny. after about 20 years of living in different states and in different work environments. they prove themselves over and over how lazy and stupid they can be. .. you obiously are VERY young to make such a statement. every where i turn. i see their ignorance and their"the world owes me a living" attitudes.. very pathetic..

It's because people tend to fear or hate what they don't understand. Whether it's due to differences in religion, skin colour, or whatever, the attitude of many people is that their "type" is better than everyone else's.
Statistically speaking though, in many major cities, crimes tend to be committed by dark-skinned people more often than light-skinned.

Part of it is the "music" they listen to. They ride around in public with it blasting out of their cars and it contains foul language, endorses violence, and says it's cool to treat their women like crap.They don't even care if there are women and children around when they do it.You have to act respectable to get respect. You are not owed respect just because you exist.

Blacks have earned themselves a reputation that is not undeserved. Blacks have the highest per capita violent crime rate. Blacks have the highest per capita welfare rate. Blacks have the lowest IQs.
And before anyone says "it be racism," keep in mind American Indians have suffered FAR, FAR more than any Black, even while under slavery, yet American Indians are far less violent, more self-reliant, and much smarter on average.
