Is it possible that a person could be TOLD the correct pronunciation of a word that is so important, and still CHOOSE to mispronounce it?

Is it possible that there IS another pronunciation for the word? That somewhere there are people who use this pronunciation?? I am NOT joking! I would really like to know!

Any educated person will tell you the proper pronunciation is:

noo-clee-ur, although there are alot of people who pronounce it the other way these days, even some in high-level politics (no names mentioned).
