You have to be emancipated and laws vary by state. Until this, or until you're eighteen, you're subject to your parents' rules. I probably won't win a best answer for this, but I'm twenty years older than you and living on your own is tough. I wished I knew half of what I thought I knew when I was sixteen.
Just because you disagree with your folks doesn't mean that you should move out either. You've got the rest of your life to live with people you disagree with, and your parents are going to be the most forgiving. Hang in there.

I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but the fact that you want to move out at 16 proves your mother right. I think you're a bit overconfident in your abilities. At 16, it will be hell finding a job that can feed you, and pay the rent, and pay for all of life's other expenses. In fact, it would be nearly impossible. What about school? If you think dropping out is a good idea, then lock yourself in your parent's house and don't even think about moving out until you are 18.

Why would you do a stupid element like that? you're youthful and once you flow out each and each of the duty starts... you should pay expenditures that take in any money that you would get, which brings me to a unique aspect: How about a job? i understand from experience that you received't get an fairly sturdy pastime at that age and somewhat without an unfinished highschool practise. How about procuring nutrients, outfits, toothpaste, deoderant, tiolet paper, and different various usual issues that you're taking with none interest once you reside at abode. Take it from me, I moved out at the same time as i changed into 18 and that changed into problematic sufficient, I had to pay my own coverage on my motor vehicle, had to pay my own telephone, water, electrical energy, garbage costs, employ, taxes, and through the time that those necessties the position paid for with my tiny paycheck I had in basic terms sufficient money to purchase a pair cans of soup or spaghetti Os and then purchase cleansing soap, and deoderant. and that i changed into 18 with a done highschool degree and ought to get a first rate pastime. it really isn't any longer going to be as worry-free as you imagine. in reality you'll probable finally end up again abode earlier a three hundred and sixty 5 days changed into up. So my advice is stay in college, flow to school or a commerce college, and get a sturdy pastime and flow out once you're older then 20.

Do you have a job that pays 30,000.00 or more a year ? Can you afford to take care of yourself without any outside help ? Are you still in school ? At the age of 16 you cannot enter into a contract of any kind including medical treatment. These are just a few things to consider. But by law no you cannot legally move out unless you are emancipated, and to do that you have to prove you are capable of taking care of yourself legally and financially.

My dear I hear your loud and clear. Here is my two cents and I urge you to wait for your freedom. Now tell me about how are you going to survive alone? Who is going to pay for your apartment? Do you have a full time job that pays you well? What about food and extra money? How can you get around? Can you ride your bike or take a bus because, the car payment and insurance will cost you almost $20,000 plus. For car insurance in California is $2000 a year and you might get a decent car for $16,000 and $3000 for interest and license plate.( Just estimate ) I do not give you the rental yet and my town, it will cost $1200 for one bedroom apartment.Well what about the gas who will foot your bill.I do not mind to let my kid moves away but the cost of living is tremendously. My daughter had to wait until she was 18 to move away for a Private college.

No, you can NOT do it on your own.
Until you reach the age of majority, you can not sign any legal papers, such as lease agreements, utilities, etc. The fact that you think you can move out and be fine on your own proves you are not mature enough. Try thinking this through and at every step, think, can I do this without my parents agreeing to it first.
You'll quickly realize, you are not able to pull this off.
Wait two more years. Then your parents can throw you out of the house if you want out or not. Then, you can prove to her, you CAN do it.

I don't think it is a good idea. I was 22 when I moved out & that was too soon. Do you have a real job? What about finishing HS-- not to mention college. Why do you want to move out of your parents house anyway???

You can do anything, but is it wise? I think, though, you must be eighteen to do so for a landlord to honor a lease.
