I was so afraid of the dark! I had to have a light on, make sure the closet door was closed and blocked with a chair. I dared not let any part of my body hang off of the bed. I would put something at the end of the bed to protect my feet and a something on either side of me. Looking back, that seems pretty silly. My biggest fear was that I would turn around and some guy would be there just staring at me. I am still afraid of the dark-I sleep with the TV on. My closet doors get closed, but I don't put a chair there anymore. I can not sleep in total darkness. I'm never without matches and candles. I know some may think it's silly, but I figure there could be worse things for me to worry about.

I was scared of the dark as a child and always slept with some type of light on, whether it was the hall or the t.v. I still am but I'm not that bad, I just pray and after that I feel protected.

When I was little, I had to leave the light in the room on, crank up the volume on my headphones, and cover up the mirror in my room with a blanket...Oh, and I had to make sure the closet door was shut all the way....and my feet could NOT hang over the bed whatsoever

No. No. No. Why would you have to protect yourself in your sleep? What kind of stories did your parents read to you?

I wasn't afraid of the dark, but I wouldn't go into our very large garage at night. It was creepy and I'm sure something sinister lived there!

No, because the smart child knows that darkness is also
his defense from harm.
