my son is 9 months old and he doesnt sit on his own either, also he hates being put on his belly so he doesnt even crawl yet. but he walks everywhere in his walker. there is nothing wrong with your son all childeren learn at different times. what i do with my son is sit him up with a triangle pillow to support his back and i sit him up in his stroller when we are out. it will take a while but they will learn eventually. i suppose they wont try until they want to, but i wouldnt be worried just keep doing what u are doing he will do it eventually

Of course if you are concerned you should, on your next healthy baby check, communicate this with his pediatrician. However, I wonder if you allow your son to lie on the ground and move around. Just like us, babies need to exercise the muscles in their back, neck and abdomen in order to sit up, crawl and walk. Floor play is not only fun but necessary for good spinal and muscular development.

If you have taken your baby for check-ups & he is healthy, don't worry about it. All babies progress at their own speed. He will sit when he gets ready. You might try using a walker or a jumper to get him used to being upright. Just relax & enjoy your baby.

Sitting alone at 7 months is about average, I believe. But all children take their own course. Here is a site that gives you some things to look for that COULD mean trouble.

just give it time, some babies vary, but if he is still not sitting up alone before her is just at 1 take him to the doctor or ask him why.

i don't think anything is wrong
here is something you can use to prob him up. i don't think it will help him learn to sit by himself but will allow you to be hands free
