The earth and climate would get warmer.

Then it would get warmer and warmer in a runaway cycle called the "Greenhouse Effect." Venus has a surface temperature of over 800 degrees Fahrenheit because of that. Even though it's closer to the sun, if it had a high albedo (reflection index) it would be quite comfy. It could be Earth-like if the atmosphere produced the right proportion of elements. Even if it didn't, there's no scientific reason it couldn't produce, for example, methane-based life forms. But as it is, Venus' inability to reflect enough of the sun's radiation has caused it to be an inferno. Hotter than Mercury, in fact, which is a lot closer to the sun but has no atmosphere to trap the sun's energy.

I just read a front page headline that says that the reflective ice of the Earth that has melted in the last decade is twice the size of Texas. It's not looking good. I don't see a big decline in the sale of automobiles. Basically, the attitude seems to be "get yours while there's still something to get." Ironically, it is the equatorial climates with all the polluting oil resources that will start to fry first. Nome, Alaska, will be prime real estate pretty soon.

the earth would become like a oven. this is acctually what is predicted if we dont start to lower the CO2, carbon dioxide, use due to the greehouse effect.the earth will not allow any heat out but all heat in, and heat is nothing but energy, or atoms, at a high rate of speed. we will then eventually have another Ice Age.

Excuse me but that is what is happening. The only planet that releases more energy than it receives (from the sun) is Jupiter. So to answer your question, nothing would happen.

it would heat up, this is one of the effects of solar storms and flares as they pass earth and excite the magnetic field and create the last cycle of increase aurora activity which should be ending now. If the solar cycle goes too low on its downcycle phase we will have another mini ice age like in the eurpean middle ages. if it goes even lower another full ice age and thats it for all of us.people usually underestimate the effects of solar storms but they regularly destroy satellites, disrupt comunications on the planet surface and cause major electric system blackout failures.

It would cause the thermal energy in the earth to rapidlly build up causing destruction of Earth's crust! HEEHE

The earth itself would heat up. This would cause the ice to melt and the oceans to rise, so I think.

The same thing that would happen if we don't get a handle on all these maniacs on the planet with nuclear weapons.
