Try to pump milk whenever you can or your milk supply will diminish. Supply and demand- the more he drinks the more you make. It is fine as long as you can keep your milk production up. Good Girl- finish school!! It must be tough to be in your position. Keep your head up- At 15 it might not have been the best timing in the world for a baby but you can make it work and be stronger for it. Good Luck to you and your new baby- and the daddy too.

Yes, it's okay to supplement your breastfeedings with formula. Lots of moms do. Just so you are aware, though, the more bottle feedings your son will get, the less milk you will produce for him. Milk is produced according to your baby's demands. If you want to continue to breast feed for some time and would like to increase your milk supply, continue to eat a well-balanced diet, take your pre-natal vitamins, drink plenty of fluids,(lots of water, juices and 4 to 6 glasses of milk a day) and get your rest. When you are away from your baby for an extended period of time (one or two feedings, say), you can try to pump the milk out and save it in playtex nurser bags, refrigerated or frozen, to be given to the baby at one of his bottle feedings. You could mix it with the formula if you like. As your breasts empty, it stimulates more production of milk. Good luck to you with your family and your studies. I was a young mom too, and I know it's not easy.

Yes, thats fine, people do it all the time. Just make sure to pump and keep your milk supply up, or else when you are feeding him he wont get enough because your body will not have made enough milk. Just remember, in most cases, Breast milk is the Best milk!
Also, watch out for nipple confusion, he may end up rejecting the bottle, or the breast, or both!

Of course that's okay ! It's great that you are breastfeeding and that his daddy is there to help you out. I hate pumping so he gets formula too. Your milk supply will not deminish, it's supply and demand, as long as you nurse him when you do, you'll be fine !
Just make sure the bottles he gets aren't too fast of a flow, and they are bottles that support breastfeeding (Playtex nurser, Avent etc) So that he doesn't reject one or the other. Good Job !

It is up to you but what you will do is end up loosing your breast milk as it works on supply and demand so the less you use breast milk the less you will make

YES!! I did it with my 8 year old. If you have questions about breastfeeding PLEASE call your local hospital to speak to a lactation consultant! Don't stop breastfeeding. I did it with formula and breast, you can too!

It's okay as long as you pump in between so you don't loose your supply of milk.
