Murder-Suicide And Aftermath
Hartman was murdered by his wife Brynn on May 28, 1998, in his Encino, California home, at the age of 49. Hartman was shot twice in the head and once in the forearm with a revolver he had given to Brynn as a gift during an argument. A few hours later, after she confessed to a friend, Ron Douglas, Brynn committed suicide with a shot to the right eye using a second revolver while police were removing Phil's children from the house.

It was Phil Hartman! And I miss him SO much! His Bill Clinton impression was THE best!! Does anyone remember the SNL episode when he was Bill Clinton at the McDonalds, going around eating everyone's food??!! He was great on Newsradio also!!

The first answer was right.SHE did the shooting.Autopsy showed cocaine, anti depressants and booze in her blood and all friends to both were reported saying Phil was trying to get her clean.She went wacko and killed him, then herself.Phil was a good guy whose career was only getting started away from SNL. Sad..
