Asking on behalf of my wife, who's lesbian, shaven-headed for reasons that don't relate to her sexuality, and a bit frustrated with some ignorance she encountered today.

I'm a girl, too. (With hair almost to my waist.) We consider ourselves married. Look at the category.

When I see a woman with a shaven head I just think maybe she got tired of her hair and wanted to try something new that is less maintenance.

No, I don't. I assume that they either have cancer or some other type of illness that causes hair loss. Or that they are close to someone with an illness and shaved their head to show support. That's the first thing I think of.

How can your "Legal" wife be a lesbian? Some people shave their heads because of cancer and other just think it's beautiful.

Got the category ..."legal" was just a reminder to all of the unfairness of the situation. If you think she is beautiful that way that is all that matters. I know men who think shaven heads on women are sexy also. It takes a strong person to have the confidence to do it. So hats off to you....no pun intended. HAHA!

No, I don't. Usually if there hair is all shaved off, I think they may be going through chemo. If they have a little bit of hair, I just assume that they're very brave and than think back to when I did it myself like that before.

No. I've seen many women with shaved heads that weren't lesbians. Some even did it as as show of support of a cancer victim.

heck no! there are many reasons a woman might shave her head (like if her hair is falling out due to chemo, like a woman I know at work). people make too many assumptions based on looks.

No, I don't...I remember when Sinead shaved her head ---I didn't know she was a lesbian.......
and in reply to angel above...you can be lesbian and have a wife if you're fortunate enough not to live in the US.

no not really. thats kinda like saying if you see a guy with his head shaved hes gay. its just a hair cut. but i can understand why u would think this way. mabey they do it to scare away guys because they only want girls attracted to them. the world may never know.

Nope. Natalie Portman shaved her head and she's not a lesbian.
