Go with sharkhunt! Cut it down, BUT, be prepared to battle ants when you do, they WILL be looking for a new home!
Might be best to completely kill the ant colony BEFORE you destroy their home! They might just move into your home if you don't!

it would be best to cut the tree down and grow a new one, the ants have already don their damage and the tree is going to die anyway. im wondering where this willow tree is located, because they are not a very good tree to have around your house anyway. the roots from it will bust water lines and ruin your foundation if its too close to your house, but who am i to tell you what kinds of trees are good and bad? p.s.- if you do decide to cut the tree down, try to get all the roots and branches out too. a new tree will start from them.
