In the outer space fiction movies would we be able to really see a laser beam in real life?

Yes and no. For you to see the light beam, it has to reflect off of something. There are large gas clouds is space where you will be able to see the beam, but otherwise it would be invisible.

Depends on the strength...Any lasers available to the public have to comply with certain restrictions, and there's a limit to how far they can be seen and stuff...
