They are marsupials. They even have some at the Australia Zoo. The Tasmanian Devil's current population is thought to be in the range of 100,000 to 150,000, a density of approximately 20 devils per 10–20 km2 area Tasmania and Australia prohibit the export of Tasmanian Devils.


You are thinking of the Tasmanian Tiger that's now extinct, though there are sightings each year.

Yes Tasmanian devils are alive and well on the island of Tasmania. And yes they are marsupials, that carry only 4 babies in a pouch facing backwards. All the rest that are born die. Devils eat alot of road-kill and so have a strong odor about them. Also they can get very vocal screeching so hence were nicknamed devils. They are no way extinct. They are prone to tumors on their faces from biting each other fighting over rotten road kill.

Ok I tell you now there are some seriouse health issues with the tassie Devil .
They have a virus that is transmitted by mouth , and their nunmbers are dropping off very fast .

It is a carnivorous marsurpial in Austrailia. Resembles a dof. Has black fur, an offensive odor, loud screech, and is very vicious.
