so here's the question. i need to know how to solve it:

three hundred forty-three quills were carefully placed into 7 compartments. If each compartment held the same # of quills, how many quills were in each compartment?

devide the number of compartments by the number of quills you have. 7 compartments dievided by 343 quills ( 343/7=49)

you just divide 7 into the number of quills in each compartment... and that will give you the answer!!!

This one is pretty simple -- you have 343 of something divided equally into 7 containers...so each one contains 1/7th of the total. Just divide 343 by seven to get your answer.
