Get some Neem Oil (extracted from the seeds of Neem) and next time you see it, spray him. The oil is gentle on the Fly Trap (although don't spray the traps if you can help it) and it will coat the earwig and it will suffocate. End of problem. (By the way neem oil is marketed by Bonide as 3in1 Rx. Comes ready-to-use or concentrate.)

Ewe! Where there is one there is very likely more..... do you have room to place a scewer into the pot and put an upside down spray can lid on it? Or something similar? This is the old fashioned way of catching earwigs as they would really prefer to be in the dark and a bit drier during the day. They should climb the scewer and hide under the cap in the day time and you can remove them.
