They have completely different motives. The rapist hates women, the terrorist wants to frighten the populace, and goad the authorities into clamping down and taking away liberties. There are lots of motives for murder.

i would disagree with the notion that they are all same. THEY ARE NOT.
the answer to the question lies in the roots or the cause for these kind of certain behaviour. a rapist motive is mainly to attain sexual pleasure from a woman. he is driven by sense of attaining a woman, without her consent. he is not at all emotionally attached to a woman, atleast at that point of time.
a murderor can have diferent motives. money, revenge, fear, defence or any other motive in front of which value of a persons life is zero.
terrorism on the other hand is more of a social, political phenomenon. a terrorist's motive is to put accross his point of view which he might share with a lot of other people, through use of force. this sort of behaviour comes from resentment and disagreement on a higher level. for example terrorism in afganistan sprung up when russia tried to invade it in 1980s. it was afganistan's way of showing disapproval. later it grew stonger when their religious sentiment were hurt by other events. it was a contextual thing which others look at as completly objective in nature.
another example can be sikh terrorism in India in 1970s and 80s. people were tortured by military and other goverment establishments which took a form of terrorism by sikhs to take revenge and show discontent(sort of self defence actually).
terrorism is not an objective issue. we can not put it in same catagory as murder and rape. all of them are different though they seem to hurt similar moral sentiments. these problems are not as simple as they may seem.
take care
PEACE :)

Terrorists focus on whole groups, or a country, or schoolhouses. The stories about schools being terrorized, in this country, as well as others; it could be one person or several.
A rapist is focused on one victim, and the possibility more than one attacker is not as uncommon as it used to be.
Murderers are focused on one person, a family, a schoolhouse, they are operating with a mind that is not in touch with reality; only with their reality.
All are terrorists, bottom line, the truth, my final answer!

The whole psychology of it to begine with. The rapist or murderer has something personal to get from it.
The terrorist has something religious or an ideal for it.
Of course neither one is right in any way but the difference is there.

A rapist concentrates on women.
A murderer often only murders a one person, or a mass murderer kills because of a mental aberration.
A terrorist kills also without logical reasoning, but concentrates on a country not individuals per se. Usually because of a political belief or religious belief.
But all of them are examples of mental abberation.

It's not different at all: They all try to over power and control you, because they feel impotent, powerless, or not man enough.
Terrorist shove things in your face without compassion, just like rapists do.

All are the SAME.. including an adulterer.. even SINFUL THINKING !! SIN is the transgression of God's LAW ! However, if the SINNER repents and turns away from his sin, he is counted RIGHTEOUS in God's eyes because God is LOVE . May God Bless You.

Rapist - Has sex with someone who didn't want to have sex.
Murderer - Kills someone who didn't want to die.
Terrorist - Puts fear in people who don't want to be afraid.
They are quite different.
