I'm stocked at TE with winslow, gates and LJ smith and i can start 2 TE a week max. I wanna get a good quarterback like Vick or Manning (my starting QB is warner with culpepper backing up) and I'm thinking about selling high with gates. I wanna trade him with some other players cause he has such a high profile name, and he's not doing too well with Rivers so far. My other 2 TE's are putting up great numbers. Should i take a chance and trade him if i can get a manning or vick, or hold on to him and hope he puts up monster numbers like last year and take a chance on my other 2 TE's?

You are stacked at TE. Go into waivers, sounds like you got a smaller league (because of all the depth) so guys like Pennington and Mcnair may have gone undrafted. Qbs are out there, TE is a hit or miss position. With Winslow and Smith you can afford to lose Gates for either Manning.

No don't trade man Gates will score mad points when he gets back. and you have Delhomme..Delhomme is starting to come around , so just dump Culpepper and Warner and pick up Grossman and or Carr off the wavier.. there should be Leftwich and maybe Green when he comes back man... but whatever you do don't trade Gates..you'll be kicking yourself when he starts scoring mad points. ..plus if you have to trade Winslow and a second rate wr for a good qb...maybe you can get Eli Manning or if you try hard enough McNabb.

Wait...you said the phrase "good quarterback" and Vick in the same sentence. That's a problem.

If you can trade Gates for Manning, then I'd do that. You need help at QB with Warner injured/not starting.

If you can trade Gates for Peyton Manning, do it. Mike Vick is always one play away from ending his career. He has had 3 good games on the ground, but when he gets stop you cannot rely on his arm, its terrible. Daunte is garbage too and Kurt Warner might get benched this week.

Who would trade one of the best QB's of all time, already, for a tight end? If you're going to shop Gates, you won't get Peyton for him, but you'll DEFINATELY get someone better than Warner and Culpepper.

But check your waiver wires, Pennington is available in a lot of leagues.

If you can live with out him go for it.

If not try the waiver wire.
