As it goes back down it collects even more bits of old rotting food and pumping gas, this adds to the texture of the stench when omitted from `lower down` and if the pressure is allowed to build up, say at an important social gathering where it would plainly be `bad mannered` to fart, it can lead to a `turdic blow-through` the evidence of this is often `Brands Hatch Syndrome` whereby your gusset looks like the starting grid at the famous Kentish motor racing circuit.
This really is a case of `better out than in`!

The more intriguing question is, "If you swallow a fart, and you also need to fart, does the result come out a fart squared or 2 farts?"

I used to try and make my sister burp by farting on her bum. It never worked and my mum shouted at me!! So i'm gonna say the answer is no.

no, just a bigger burb. farts are produced by bacterial breakdown of foodstuffs in the lower intestine, not the stomach.
