The date of your pregnancy starting is calculated from the first date of your last menstrual period, so that would make you about 5-6 weeks along. The cramps could be normal or a sign of a problem. You should try to get into the doc ASAP to check it out. Good luck

its normal. They last for about the first few months.
I had them so bad i took medicine and wore a pad, i thought i was starting my period. Didnt know i was pregnant. I had them until i was just about three months pregnant.
its the uterus and muscles stretching and preparing to make room for your growing baby. Plus all the new relaxin in your system makes things softer and sore.
Perfectly normal.
Just wait until your round tendons start stretching. You freak out, double over, and think your havnig a miscarriage. It HURTS.
But the period like cramps are normal. Dont let anyone freak you out. You shouldnt be passing any colored discharge, running a fever, or have pain centralized in only one side for days on end that gets worse. The last would indicate a tubal pregnancy (your too early along in your pregnancy to even feel that pain, since the baby isnt even as big as a grain of rice).
Go take a walk, drink pleanty of water, rest when you're tired.
You'll be fine.

When I found out I was pregnant I was shocked because I was sure I was about to start my period. I know exactly what you feel. When I went to the doctor they insured it was normal and not to worry unless the cramping got worse or was accompanied by spotting or bleeding. I think it's your body's way of readying the womb. I hope this helps and congratulations.

The same thing happened to me when I was first pregnant with my daughter I went to the hospital 5 times during that pregnancy and every time they told me that I was just having braxton-hicks contractions and it was nothing to be worried about so, Since the first day of your las period you are about 6 weeks pregnant thats when I started having that happen also so if it was me I would call my OB-GYN and ask him or her just to be safe.
