I never thought I would like leather but I was persuaded to try it and I was surprised at how I changed my mind. I now have black leather seating and it is soooo comfortable. It looks very stylish too. Be sure to try a lot for comfort before you buy. It is a bit like the three bears out there...too soft , too hard, too deep, too shallow, but when you find the one that is perfect you will be delighted and it will look brand new forever. I just use leather wipes on mine now and again and they look great. Another thing I found was although leather may look cold to sit on it is not. It seems to warm really quickly and it was equally comfortable during the heatwave.

Well think about it. Leather is nicer yet more expensive. If you get a fabric couch for let's say $400, the leather couch will be like $200 more! You choice!

I would say leather. It's nice but it has it down falls. Like cats with claws. Very hot a sticky in the hot weather. Very cold in the cold seasons. But it is easy to clean when you have kids. I have a leather sofa. But i got it very cheap. Plus i have cats and kids. I would have gone for fabric. Seeing that living with my wife. I'm often find myself sleeping on it. Fabric warmer.

Leather, especially if you have kids or clumsy friends - it is much easier to keep looking good.

When fabric gets old, it just looks - old. When a good quality brown leather sofa gets old, it has that battered shabby-chic coffee-shop charm.

I'd go for fabric unless you have a big budget and can afford to get the nice soft leather, otherwise i find cheap leather to be very uncomfortable.

Fabric. The new stain resistance technologies are great on them these day, plus either I always slide off of leather, or the cushion comes out from under me!

Fabric! Leather is not animal friendly, well because your couch would be covered in dead flesh. On another note though it gets sticky in the summer and it can be scratched by a dogs nails.

Leather is always classy. And yeah it is better to treat them anyway. And it is easier to keep clean. The only thing about leather couches, they are not necessarily comfy - sweaty in summer and cold in winter.

Leather is the right word these days. It is poshy at the same time durable. It shows class. I'll go for leather anytime.
