Of course you will never permanently rid yourself of the virus. If you have a cold sore once you will have it again most likely in or around the same place the first one appeared. The cold sore/fever blister is a strain of the herpes virus so don't have ANY contact with anyone b/c you can spread your blister. Make sure you wash your hands thoroughly. Of course the carmex or abreva will help reduce the pain of the sore you still might want to google cold sores and visit some of the websites to learn the stages of your blister!!!!! But you will never rid yourself of that! Don't worry it means nothing almost 80% of us have this and will face recurring blisters! You are NOT ALONE!

Hey Hon,
Abreeva is supposed to be a good cold sore medicine. I've also heard of people using carmex (in the white jar with the yellow metal lid, it can be found in just about any checkout line!)

Hope this helps!

^^ Two above mentione and also letting it run it's course. Not much along those line.

P.S. refrain from kissing and "other things" so as not to give it to someone else.

This is gonna sound funny but it works, use your own ear wax. That will make it disappear and will heal but it has to be from your own ear. You have the anitbiotic to heal your self.
