I can forgive anything. I will never forget. You must forgive your enemy in order to avoid becoming like them. Hitler & Co. killed many people & not all of them were Jews. Everything happens for a reason & perhaps from death we can have a happy life knowing that we were spared the hell of Nazi Germany for a reason that we do not yet know. We must learn to look for the light at the end of the tunnel, even though we are still in the darkness! Keep busy until you die & never stop looking for something that is hidden from plain sight. This should keep a person busy enough to find a little happiness along the way.

Forgiveness comes as naturally as breathing to some, and never comes to others who have hardened their heart. I have difficulty forgiving people who harm children, and Hitler would have to be one of them, even if he may not have directly ever done anything to children, people under his command did such things at his behest.
I have seen documentaries of convicted murderers and the mother's of the victims saying that they have forgiven the person. I would find that very difficult. In fact holding a grudge does more damage to you than to the person who has harmed you or your loved one. By holding on to your anger and your angst you can cause you own personality and health to degrade (ever hear of having an bleeding ulcer from stress?)...or hypertension or other ways stress can manifest itself.
So it's best for you to forgive, (and this sounds almost insane coming from me) because I tend to hold onto my own anger or want revenge. However I know what is best, the real issue is to forgive, but to also protect yourself from being harmed by the same person in the same way in the future, so like the saying goes "Get me once, shame on you! Get me twice...SHAME ON ME!" So I think if possible forgive but don't forget. Does that make any sense to you?
Good luck!

I have lived with a habitual liar my whole life.
My mother would say ANYTHING to get her own way!
I was beaten by my father because he loved and believed my lying mother. SHE IS 90+ now and will still lie to suit her needs!
I am married to a man who spent our married life saying to the children...Well, You know what your mother is like....He never said what I was like, just inferred it was bad!
It took my children until they left the house as adults and then looked back over the years to see the LIE!
I have over 30+ years of marriage caught him with 6 different women. To all of them he lied, I was some kind of monster, they were sweet helpless and just what he needed!
YEAH..........................
Liar, Liar, There is nothing worse, because the truth is never clear.
With a murderer, well he is gonna kill you.
and a terrorist, well he is gonna kill you.
Hitler, yup! he was gonna kill you.
With a liar, you never know where you stand, because they never tell even a drop of the truth.
I find it frightening not to know from which direction I will be lied about next! UNFORGIVABLE CRIME...LIARS

Child abuse. Anyone that abuses a child deserves to be castrated. I know that's not the politically correct thing to say but it's the truth. A child is innocent and anyone that takes that innocence away should be castrated then thrown in prison with the key to the cell flushed down the toilet.
Nothing can excuse, justify or explain an attack on a child.

I shall never forgive the person the created BARNEY the dinosaur.
I had to hear that crap every single day for years as my kids were growing up.
Any one who states that they forgive someone for a serious crime is fooling themselves. To totally forgive would be to totally forget. As if it never happened. This just can not be done...

no. there is no limit.
the depths of depravity that exist in the human race will always produce someone who finds any atrocity acceptable, if not redeemable in some fashion.
Humanity would be a lot better off without all of these humans running around...

I know that a lot of people would say that they would forgive someone easily but even for little things it hard for most people to forgive. I know that it's hard for me to forgive people even for some of the small things.

If someone hurt my kids in any way, shape, or form, I can't forgive. I can't forgive murder, rape, and domestic violence either. I guess I'm not very forgiving for a supposedly compassionate person.

yep, as long as they pertain to them, if it's done to others then we become wary and can then forgive once a show of remorse is demonstrated, for example we forgive the remorseful mother who snaps and kills her kids or hubby, or the wayward teen who kills his loving parents, or Hitler killing Jews, or slavery, ...but let it be done directly to you...oh then you wanna hold some vengeance until the day they lay you to rest! It's easier to be sympathetic and empathetic to others than to be in that very position yourself.

i cant imagine anyone being forgiving of a violent killing of a small child. Mental illness seems to excuse some people from less violent ones however.
