Every fraction can be expressed as decimal (a number with a decimal point). One way to convert a fraction to a decimal is to divide the numerator by the denominator.

For example, 1/2 is equal to 1 divided by 2, which is equal to 0.5.

that is, 1/2 = 0.5

All decimals are simply the number over a power of 10. Example: .1=1/10 and .01=1/100, etc. From there we simply reduce the fractions to their most simple form. Example: .5=5/10=1/2

It's totally trivial. Just divide the numerator by the denominator, with long division. At some point, a repeating pattern will develop, and when you can see it (or if you jsut get tired), you can quit.

you divide the denomenator(the bottom #) by the numerartor(the top #) and you will come out with a decimal. if its a repeating decimal(i.e. 1.444444444....) then go to the nearest 100ths place(i.e. 1.44)and put a bar over the repeating #.
