I have to come up with an activity plan for preschoolers with the full/empty concept. I was going to fill jars with colored water (using food coloring) and talk about them, but I need to have something for them to do that's more hands on....any ideas?

Marbles in a tupperware container. Sand in a pail. Gravel or rocks in a container.

Clear off the bookshelves for empty and have them replace the books. Empty the toy bin and have them fill it. Fill a sink with water and have them watch the water drain. Fill a glass of milk and drink it while they watch until it is empty then distribute milk and have them drink until empty and shake to prove it. Line up their empty shoes in front of them and have them fill the shoes with their feet. I think Sesame Street dealt with this concept a lot...maybe they have a website with archives you could visit.
