I think each person here would respond differently, but in my opinion it's wherever you want to be. Don't let getting a job influence where you live, live where you want and then worry about where you will work.
With then Internet available world wide, it opens up the opportunities for working online to an unlimited scope.

If you don't mind the winter cold Alaska has no state income tax, and jobs there are typically higher in wages than other states.
