I'd love to see much more of it. Here we have groups like the American Family Association and the Parents' Television Coalition, whose members wouldn't even be the the target audience for the product or ad, raising a major ruckus when that kind of thing comes out. However, we deserve to be addressed and welcomed, too, and people are beginning to see that.

If a company can back that up with nondescrimination employment policies, and maybe domestic partner benefits etc., then I'm all about it. It's nice to see someone who's like me; same as advertising with any minority group. I'm disgusted when it's only there for a cheap laugh, or when I'm being "used" as a market, but the company doesn't follow through when they can actually make a difference.

If I was responsible for sales and lesbian or gay images helped sell widgets I would be happy.

Personally I'm not so happy about some of the transgender advertising we've seen here in Europe in recent months, as it had a certain negative undertone.

As a gay man, Iam happy that gay people are being more accepted in the mainstream media, but conflicted that the stereotypes are still proliferated. As a gay man who is not wrist-flapping, lisp-talking, catty-acting, promiscious, or effeminite, I look forward to the day when these types of stereotypes are no longer acceptable.

I think that advertisers are now realizing that gays/lesbians have much more disposable income than people raising children...they're goin' after the bucks...and so they should.

I "think" if you want my money you will gear your advertising to exhibit the fact that you realise we exist and are just as significant as anyone else.
