I mean it's not like you actually win anything or gain anything other than some crappy points?! Sure there are some great, serious, interesting, insightful questions asked - I love those ones too but c'mon people! Some of us do like to lighten up and ask and reply to stupid, funny questions - where are they all!!! if you dont then simply dont answer it! Easy as that! What does everyone else think?

Oh is that right Kemi?? Seems to me that is they had wanted me off here I would have been kicked off already! I have asked (and answered) plenty of serious, scientific and intellectual questions. Judging by your past few questions and answers it sounds like you are a right laugh to be around...not! No offense ment but if you are gonna insult me then i'll insult you back :)

There is room for everyone in this forum: People who want to know what the time is, whether that is really my nose, what colour are pink socks and for people who want to know if Søren Kierkegaard was the pre-cursor of existentialism.

Rather like society as a whole except stupider.

Shonsay - I think this site could be all to all people. But maybe a separate category for some silly questions would not be out of place...:-)
Sometimes I am really tempted to give some quick, and silly replies, but on the other hand it IS annoying seeing some timewasters, who give these bland, boring and uninformative replies. I would say, informative replies are very good, witty even if silly replies are fine. But these boring, bland and unhelpful answers (like - "go to a travel agent" in the Travel section) - can make one a bit edgy. I would say - if you want to say something make it either informative or funny. Like at a party. Otherwise it is just a waste of time.

I give serious answers to serious questions, I learn some things by reading others answers, I try to give some amusing and tongue in cheek replies too (where appropriate). Sometimes I misjudge and get a thumbs down, I can sometimes learn from that. There are plenty of silly questions asked every day, all you have to do is find them, for example:- hey Shonsay why not email me and have some fun together?

Your reaction is entirely up to you

Humor is represented all over this forum, but I think most people who are going to take the time to write a thoughtful answer are doing so because they really think they can help by giving the asker the most pertinent information. Yes, some of it is deadly serious, like the mental health responses, and some of it is pure whimsy written just for laughs. Whatever the situation requires. G

If you want jokes visit a comic book store. If you want lighten up then buy a torch. If you dont like the points then dont answer or ask questions.

You are too right - I think that a bit of humour and comedy wouldnt go amiss (maybe this is run by germans)

If you're going to ask a question, then be prepared for responses you don't like. Some people are serious and some are stupid and funny. It all has to do with personality.

remember the opening scene of Blade (the first one)
This guy walks into that disco, music, seemed like fun. Then the sprinklers came on, and blood gushed out, and people turned out to be all Vampires, coming at you?

Remember that.
That are the religious nuts here too.

I dont take anything seriously on this site.
If i send someone an answer to a question sometimes its just for fun.
If they reply via e-mail to me, its sometimes because they found it funny or they have no sence of humar, which i just think 'got-ya!'

it's like a mood swings: at some point lots of us have very thoughtful questions & answers. At some time you can see line of offencieve questions (usualy just before lunch) and very warm ones at night. And because it's all based on different time lines we can find at any time something senseble
