no, of course not. babies don't tend to actually smile until they are closer to 4months or so. before that, most "smiles" are actually attributed to gas. I know what I am talking about as I have three young children of my own. don't worry, your beautiful new baby is just fine and will be smiling up a storm in no time at all. and by the way....please go pick up a copy of what to expect in the first year. it is a big, big help to new moms.

My 9 weeks old baby just started to smile this last week... Don't be worried. They all are different.

Babies dont even think to start smiling untill they are like 3 months old.

USUALLY THEY WILL START TO SMILE AT YOU WHEN THEY CAN FOCUS BETTER ON YOU WITH THEIR EYES! MY BABY JUST STARTED AND SHE IS GOING ON FOUR MONTHS NOW! SOMETIMES SHE SMILES IN HER SLEEP, IT'S SO CUTE. I ALSO BELIEVE THAT IT IS THAT SINGLE CHILDS DEVELOPMENT. YOUR BABY IS FINE, JUST TALK MORE AND SMILE MORE AROUND THE BABY!

no i would'nt worry about it some babies dont always smile at first but it doesnt mean your baby isnt happy or anything like that maybe he/she smiled when you werent looking.

No babies all develop at diffrent times. Have you spoken to his pediatrition, they'll tell you if he is ok, but as long as he seems healthy other wise he probably is.
