It's all in the faith that you have and what you are taught. If no one taught Muslims to be Muslim, there would be no psycho-bombers.
If Jesus never came there would be no Christians, and so on.
To believe that there is an existence after is wise, to lock yourself into only one way of thinking about it is not wise.
Also if people really knew with out any doubt what so ever that heaven was just total bliss, we would all kill ourselves to get there.

Some people can get excited about heaven....the born again Christians but we the normal people have our doubts. Yes wouldn't it be lovely if there is an afterlife that rewards us for all the b/s that we experience on Earth but who knows for sure? I do believe in a higher power....but this whole religious thing confuses me.

"Gosh Cesar G! Hopefully, you wont mind that I'm gonna answer your question in a round-about way. There are a lot of words dedicated to the nature of G-d.
I start with the concept of computers. They are relatively simple machines for crunching numbers. Each operation consists of an electric charge for one or zero. We, the creators, can intercept the signals wirelessly and read what they say ... it's easy with the proper equipment. Is it far-fetched to believe our creator can do the same thing with us? Is it far-fetched to understand he has easily kept the records of every though and action that each of us have or will have? The being that G-d is, can record and evaluate each thought and action that 6,547,453,000 people have each moment, day and night ... easily. A being with that ability can easily keep track of us and what we do with no effort.
Is it far-fetched to believe that he might re-constitute us in some other form, with our thoughts and actions recorded in the new form? This could easily explain heaven and hell. Those who closely adhere to his laws, by the evidence he records about them, might achieve heaven (whatever that is). Folks who chose not to align themselves with his laws can simply be discarded without their "rebirth" because the evidence he accumulates on them illustrates their break from his laws and the punishment is to be left dead and discarded as a "error" in their genetic and social program.
I can see what would make anyone excited about heaven. Is it far-fetched that the more good thoughts and actions we commit, the closer to heaven (whatever that is) we get? I think not. The major difficulty, to me, is the division of his worship state. Is G-d Christian? Jewish? Muslim? Hindi? Bhuddist? These religions were made up from men. G-d has no religion, just a set of laws he gave to prophets. Those, of any religion, who lead rightous lives, believe in him and obey his laws as good as they can, will reach their goals. The question remains about those who are born dead or die by illness or murdered. I'm certain that there's a place for them. Yes, circumstance, a little faith and reason might win us a spot in that 'special' place."

Some people think Heaven is not real. Also, some people aren't Christians so they think That there is no such thing as Heaven or Hell. As a Christian I think people aren't very excited because they don't realize how wonderful it will be.

Coz sins are much more exciting and humans are coded to do great good and great evil, and sometimes great good is boring and hard to do, and great evil is more adrenaline releasing...so given the choice of a lifetime of long, boring and un-appreciated service to God or a shorter life of exciting and sinful ventures, many people would choose the latter...who thinks ahead to when you die and where you'll go? you are simply living for now...consequenses? what consequences?

because, it means drawing us away from the things we have grown attatched to on earth, and we dont want to leave those things behind. Besides, human flaw says that we are not always eager to things we are new to, without warning or information, we go in cold and without understanding. So its kind of scary. And most people dont take too fondly to those sorts of things.
