i know this may sound crazy but do woman get a little more gasie when they are pregnant.

Oh My God! Like an Exxon station... You're probably a little constipated too, right? Your body ekes every last nanogram of nurtients out of what you eat, and you need more fluids, so there really isn't much left but gas and rocks (sorry for the graphics). Drink tons, limit or eliminate caffeine, and take a mild stool softener daily to ease the process (if your dr allows it). Keep your bowels moving, and the gas will dissipate SOME, but not all the way. And if in public when you feel the urge to "release some pressure", then find the emptiest Aisle in the Wal-mart and relax... Just not too loudly.

Yes, it is a very common side effect. So is constipation.......Go get a book called " what to expect when you are expecting" by Heidi Murkoff. It's the pregnancy bible and will help with all these questions. Your question as well as many others that you would not expect is in there. It's excellent in describing all of these little things that worry moms and help distinguish when something is "normal" or not.
