You could put plugs in any bare spots or wait for the grass to grow and fill them in.

Use the runners to fill in the holes. The runners have roots at each node, put the roots in the ground. Tamp them down. Make sure to keep it watered. For some reason, this year St Aug seed is not as reliable as usual.

Marcie, my husband and I planted st. aug grass in the back yard and it is now dead after only 2 months. We watered, professionally treated it and it still died. St. aug grass is very high maintenance grass in my opinion.
Your best bet is to get a professional to treat it.

just go buy some more St. Augustine and patch it up......then water like crazy until it starts to fill in.......( you buy in big patches) and lay it down according to the size you want.
