If you are out until then , you must be old enough to have a key.
If not what is wrong with knocking, I love to hear your excuse if the door wasn't locked you wouldn't need one ,. good question,.and no to the gifts, but you may want to send them to the door opener or key holder.

I WOULD lock the door. I'd also have your bags packed and throw them out onto the sidewalk. After I change the locks.
