Yes, I say that Israel, imperfect as it is, does have a legal right to exist. I do not support all the actions of Israel, they are not perfect and do not have the wisdom that they truly could have.

Perhaps the Brits etc. really screwed up when they "gave" the Jewish people a nation in the way that they did.

Perhaps they really let down the Palestinian people, if they truly are a "pre-Israel" people.

The fact is that the Arab nations should be taking their anger to the UN and the Brits etc. not trying to eliminate the Israelis! The Arab nations, historically, have rarely been able to be united on practically any issue.

Doesn't the fact that Israel has survived all their attempts, to date, to destroy them tell you anything (aside from the fact that the US etc. support them)?

The leaders of Arab nations are not any better as people than the Israeli leaders, some of them in fact are truly evil.

Saddam, the sheiks of Saudi Arabia, Libya's leader, Syria's leader and others have all shown themselves to be evil and even unconcerned with their own people!

It seems to me that the Arab nations need to start thinking of the future of their own nations and stop fretting over the existence of the Israeli nation; they need to do their part to help the Palestinians become a proper country and a moral country, rather than a hotbed of criminals and terrorists.

Only if they agree to a 'good neighbour' policy.
Abbas is not the only player in the 'team', what about Hamas? After all, they are the elected government. Don't get your hopes too high, Israel is bound to do something atrocious soon. Or did Hezbollah finally scare the bejesus out of them?
World opinion has turned against Israel after their indiscriminate slaughter of innocent Lebanese.
If Israel wants to have ANY chance of existing in peace, THEY have to seek the acceptance of all the Muslim countries in the region, on their damn knees if that's what it takes, and soon, because the noose is tightening. Do they think the thousands of new 'militants' that they created recently are sitting on their hands?
Another point: Look at some of the answers here. Two or three months ago many of these answerers would have immediately supported Israel's RIGHT to exist, but recent events, both in the Middle East and elsewhere, have made normal people start to think: Is it really worth the trouble and danger supporting Israel?

I also notice another emerging tendency: Some Americans are now starting to blame the 'Brits' for the creation of Israel. Well, let me tell you something, and let's put this flame out before it becomes a raging inferno: Yes, the 'Brits' introduced the idea, which was accepted by the UNITED NATIONS, but since then the UNITED STATES has been arming Israel to the teeth. And defending it against all criticism, so don't try to wriggle out of this one, like you so love doing. The mess in the Middle East is to be laid at your door. (Israel and the US)

First & Foremost.... I am an American Citizen & I have alway's (Voted Democratic) I do not believe at all the (Intentions) of George W. Bush & his so called Presidential Cabinet of (Indespensible Poeple)... I do (Believe) that all People do have a Right to Exist & that George W.Bush & his Republican Underlings do not & should not be (Policeing The World) in affairs that do not belong in the American Agenda at large...We as a whole Country (Exist) because we are alway's helping other Countries get along so that we can seek (Good Diplomatic Ties) W/the rest of the World...Diplomacy is not what George W. Bush wants because if that were true than why do we have a President that does not use Diplomacy??? Israel does indeed have every right to Exist, just as well does any other Country... It's those very few individual/s that Make (War) around the World that should not have the right to exist. Every Country in the World has more Good People in theire Countries than they do have bad...My best answer to you is...YES... Israel does have the right to Exist just as much as America has a right to Exist...I also believe that those Extreemist that are (War Mongers) do not have that right to exist. rumeoui !!!

I think Israel shouldn't have been created in the first place...and we wouldn't have had so many problems in the Middle East and thousand of lives would have been speared...
But,now, that it exists,I think that the whole world should work together to find a solution to this crisis...'cos as long as Israel is still there, there will never, ever be peace...Arabs hate them for stealing their land, and the Israelis want to grab as much land as possible...Israel must be relocated somewhere else.So I agree with it,but as long as no one has to pay with his life...Israel ,as a country maybe should exist, but not where it is now...
As for Abbas recognizing Israel this is the worst move ever...Recognizing Israel means denying the existence of Palestinians,it's like saying that Israel was right to take their land and that Israel was fully justified in killing so many Palestinians...

Yes it does, but why does it have to exist on someone elses territory. We all know that some old book said that their god promised them a bit of real estate, a promise that their god didnt seem able to keep. So America and Britain (well 99% america and britain just did what they were told) gave the jews israel. Quite what the palestinians did in WWII to deserve being robbed at gunpoint of their country i dont know. Naturally the 100% US backed israel wasnt content with this freebie so they invaded palestine and nicked a load more land, as they have been doing ever since.

Israel's existence is a fact, no one questions that. Certainly not Abbas, the US puppet, and neither did Arafat.

You need to open your mind and your eyes and you will discover that the body of evidence points to the fact that it is Israel who has rejected peace time and time again.

Palestinians want peace, thier land was stolen, they are under a foreign Occupation, humilated and tortured, homes demolished, chechpoints, assasinations, bombings and all other forms of outright aggression.

Suicide bombers have only been around sinc the early 90s ya know... after years and years of other types of resistance to Israeli aggression.

The car bomb was originated by the Stern Gang when they (Israelis) were doing terrorist acts against the Brits.

Look at the facts then decide. I think you will agree that all Americans should call on the Government to end all aid to Israel until they adhere to international law.

Absolutely! And Israel has more than 1 million Arab citizens.

Name an Arab or Muslim nation with a large Jewish population.

Israel arrests radical Jews that tried to attach the Dome of the Rock, or Al Aqsa Mosque. They belonged to the OUTLAWED political party of the late Rabbi Meier Kahane. Anyone know of an Arab or Muslim nation that arrests Muslims trying to attach Jews?

If they agree to share the area with the Palestinians as two equal states.
But the Palestinians must also adhere to the obligations required of a self-governing and responsible entity.

The question is very sad.

Do you support Argentina's right to exist?

Do you support the USA's right to exist?

If you do, then you should support Israel's right to exist too.
