To do it without the help of a conversion calculator, do dimensional analysis using known conversions:

(1) 132 lbs x 2.2 kg/1 lb=290.4 kg
(2) 10 gal x 3.785 L/1 gal=37.85 L
(3) 0.75 m x 100 cm/1 m x 1 in/2.54 cm=29.53 in
(4) 0.50 lb x 454 g/1 lb=227 g

Dimensional analysis-start off with the measurement to be converted and multiply it by a conversion factor with the unit of measure of the previous conversion in the denominator. Simply multiply through while crossing off repeated conversion units, for example, for #4, you start with 0.50 lb. You multiply that by conversion factor of 454 g/1 lb (notice how lb on bottom). Now you can cross off both lb's. So then your answer would be 0.50 times 454 grams.

So I believe the answers are:
(see above where I worked them out)

By the way, if necessary round to the correct number of sig figs (significant figures)

You simply multiply or divide by the appropriate conversion factors. There are 2.2 pounds in a kilogram; 3.8 liters in a gallon, 39.37 inches in a meter, and 453 grams in a pound. Get out your four-banger and get to work.
