My favourite words are...
defenestrate (dee-FEN-uh-strayt)
Meaning to throw out a window.
resistentialism (ri-zis-TEN-shul-iz-um)
The theory that inanimate objects demonstrate hostile behaviour against us.
surreptitious (suhr-uhp-TISH-uhs)
Done, made, gotten by, acting with stealth.
eg.. I got up for a glass of water last night. I stumped my toe on the chair which had moved deliberately to hurt me in a true act of resistentialism. I was so annoyed that I surreptitiously defenestrated the chair!

pedantic.
syllabub.
lollipop.
fettle.
filibuster.
They're all time favourites, but I often have a 'word of the month' sometimes its a cool word, and sometimes its just the most appropriate word for all sorts of situations of the moment. This week it would probably be 'politicking' or 'legislative' or 'diatribe' (I'm in a bit of a transition period between words you see)! But try saying syllabub when you're drunk, or lollipop, or filibuster - they take on true comedic qualities - sheer class!

Chocolate would be my favourite word. Yummy.
No is my 2 year old daughter favourite word at the moment.
The word I hate most in the world is "moist". It makes me feel nauseous even typing it.

From a Benny Hill skit, where he's spelling out letters in a song, (you know, L is for love etc) and at the end he says 'Put these letters together and what does it spell: Risterosterblix....(nonsense)....

Yeah likewise, I like words that are obscure, the kinda words that you hear and think to yourself, I MUST remember that one, but I never do.
"Cornucopia" springs to mind or "lambasting"- to vehemently tell-off. "Gutter-snipe" is another good 'un. Can't think of anymore right now, but you've certainly got me thinking.

Chameleon.
Besides loving the word, I also love the creature! Aren't they gorgeous? The word for them in my mother tongue is also gorgeous: "Trapsuutjie", meaning walk softly.
