Case in point: I go to look for "Band on the Run" by Paul McCartney's band Wings and "Live and Let Die" also by Paul McCartney. Nothing there but some duets with Paul and Michael Jackson. No good Beatle albums there, either except for a couple of tribute bands.

I can't find "Stairway to Heaven" by Led Zeppelin but I can find their "tribute band." This also happens to a few other artists that I can't find.

Is this some copyright issue? Will iTunes eventually feature these artists at some point? I don't feel like going to Limewire or Bearshare because of my guilty conscience just to get those songs.

Some bands don't want royalties from selling their music on itunes, they would rather you buy their physical CD. They probably get more from that anyway.

I think this is most likely due to the fact that iTunes probably hasn't been able to buy the rights to the song yet. It must be some kind of copyright infringement.

Probably because those bands or artists haven't given their permission to be on certain sites.
