Earlier, I posted a question about having a quick marriage to my boyfriend in the face of a very potential pregnancy, because his culture&parents dictate that we marry before our child is born. Now, I am faced with another problem. My bf is not a citizen,&is here on a work Visa&grant with a University. My friend's convinced that the only reason he is pushing for a marriage so fast is because he wants to have citizenship. I love him,&I know that is not the reason he wants to get married so quickly, he's not that type of person, plus he's always telling me about how great things are in his country. So, obviously, he's not pushing for citizenship. I think he is just really concerned about his culture&what his family will think about our child out of wedlock. My question is, many of you advised me to go ahead&give him the fast marriage he wants for our child...do you think that the citizenship issue is another good reason to go ahead&marry him...especially for the sake of baby?

You say "potential"?Find out if your pregnant first!! If not and he still wants to marry, go for it! First things first!!! If the two of you have been together for a while and truly know you want to stay together, what does it matter???

I think the main reason to get married would be that you both want to do so. I personally would never marry someone ONLY because we were having a child, or ONLY because of citizenship issues, etc. Everything taken together still needs one main ingredient - your mutual desire to start a family. If this ingredient is there - go for it, everything else will fall into place. But if it's missing - then you'll be miseable later, no matter what good reasons you had to go ahead and hurry up. Your b/f is in this country now, and him and his family will have to deal with the ways of THIS culture sooner or later if you two stay together. Don't feel pressured into doing anything you are not sure is a good idea. Only proceed if it feels right to you.

Every ones country is great, that's why they come here! I wouldn't marry the guy unless he plans on taking care of you and the baby! There are many people who want to get married so they can become a US citizen. I wish the best for you! I would not marry him!

I work for a years with many people from different country's. Tell me where from he is, about brothers and sisters how stable/money his family is.
How older he is then you. End I can tell you what I can think about. Every culture is different.
And if you really much him from look from outsiders opinion. he is more handsome then you deserved?
If you really want the babe, how you see the future?
I'm not to judge and I'm not going to be with him but I can share some point of view on it - is nothing like you must do it.

You should never marry someone "for the sake of the baby"...all that leads to is putting the child through a divorce later..........

I see big trouble ahead. Marry in haste; repent at leisure. Are his parents here? If not, they don't have to know anything at all. He sounds like an opportunist to me.

you shouldn't have to find a reason to get married. you sound to young to have such big problems. may i suggest that you give baby up for adoption, forget about the guy, have a wonderful rest of your life.

Marry him only if you love him enough to do so. No other reason should come above that.
