I vote for Halliday..... he's been called by the yankees and red socks "the most dominant pitcher in baseball".

He goes late into EVERY game. The only reason he is only 17-5 is because in his last 3 start the jays have given him 0-2 runs in support. He could be 19-3 or 20-2.

Anyone other nominations out there?

No question:

Johan Santana: leads AL in wins, strikeouts, and ERA plus without him the Twins are not a playoff contender.

whats up ASG: in case you probably did no longer be attentive to Cliff Lee is maximum well known the Majors in era. Even better than Justin Duchscherer. Lee has an surprising probability of triumphing the Cy youthful award this 12 months. the single element he has going against him is that his team isn't in rivalry. between the failings the voters think approximately is how their team is doing. of direction that applies extra for the MVP award than it does for the Cy youthful. For Lee to win it he has to maintain pitching properly and be waiting to hold off his opposition which comprise Daisuke Matsuzaka, Mike Mussina and Sauners, Santana and Rodriguez of the Angels. If Lee might finally end up 22-3 you will possibly could supply the award to him. the spectacular element is in his 5 no judgements this 12 months, the bullpen did no longer carry the lead three times and the two different video games he left interior the 8th with the score a million to a million and the 9th with the score 0 to 0. With slightly run help and bullpen help he could be 21-2 suitable now!

Santana is not only going to win the Cy Young, he's a candidate for the AL MVP. He's the most dominant pitcher, not Halliday.

How could anyone else even be close to him? He leads in every major category! The real question is who is going to be the NL Cy Young.

Well Yankees and Red Sox say taht about him because they only have to see Santana once a year, maybe twice. He by far is the most dominating pitcher in the league. I cant see anyone beating him since he is going to win the pitchers triples crown,(wins, era, strikeouts). Dont know why not many people are talking about that, i think it is a real good thing to have on your resume.

Santana would win the Cy Young if it were given to just one player in the majors. He leads the triple crown cathegories IN BOTH LEAGUES, plus he owns the best whip.

What the hell, he could be the AL's MVP.

Halladay could come second.

Santana's going to win the Triple Crown. He should be the MVP. He'll get the Cy young easily.

Johan!! Wang & Verlander are probably the only other serious contenders since Paplebohn went down.

Hallady won't win more than 17 beause he's likely shut down for the year.
