Well in this war we are not bowing to world opinion. We always fight wars to protect Americans or our allies. If the UN had some backbone and did something about Saddam thumbing his nose at the world We would not be there..All those nations who are against us now are still coming to us with their hands out for our money..About the only true friend we have is Britain. But take a look at history. We baled England out of two world wars so they are repaying us. They are the only country to pay their debt to us God save the QUEEN//

In order that a manner of life well adapted to the peculiarities of war ...could come to dominate others, it had to originate somewhere , and not in isolated individuals alone but as a way of life common to the whole society of America.
We no longer have the right to wage war on others .After you have reached a certain level of knowledge and information available to most people war becomes obsolete and should not be considered as Bush has done .

If you cared about world opinion, you wouldn't keep attacking other countries. If you want the respect of the world, act with a little more restraint. The universe does not revolve around the USA.

By the way, it's kow-tow

I get so sick of Americans saying they baled us out of wars. Where were you from 1939 to 1941? Making profits from our suffering. And every ally you've ever fought with has had casualties from so-called friendly fire, i.e. American incompetence and recklessness.

To enlarge American political and economic interests.

Watch out with the big bad wolf analogy.
The big bad wolf got so bloated that he fainted on the bed till red riding hood's daddy set her and her grandmother free from his tummy.

I'd say its more to protect American interests. If it was really for world opinion, we'd be fighting real wars to end oppresion like in Africa. Instead, we go and fight a regime in Iraq, claiming it was to free oppression, but it was really to ensure our stake in oil.

Americans get into or start wars for their own interests. I don't think this administration gives a rat's *** about world opinion or even what its own citizens have to say.

I do believe that our soldiers go through war to protect our country, they want to live in a place of freedom that they can be proud of. People in higher offices, who the hell knows? John Anderson says if you don't love it leave it, Bush makes that look better every day.
