Well it depends why you are going in the first place. The summers are really nice and have been getting alot of rain. In the summer you can go up to the moutains (Denali) and hike around and see the trees and flowers. You can go out on a cruise and go see Prince William Sound and see whales and walruses and seals. Otters are the coolest. Go deep netting and go Halibut Fishing. Or you could go in the winter if you can stand the cold. If you go in the winter there is less to do but you could go snowmaching or go on a dog mushing tour. In January is usually the best time to see the Aurora Borealis but it gets really cold like40 and 50 below so be prepared.

Depends on how much you like snow...it's always a bit "cool" in Alaska, but personally, I'd say Jun-Aug are good bets; If you love the snow then Oct-Apr...
