If you don't use your laptop everyday, then just cancel the broadband. Unless, the internet is of the upmost importance (e.g. Going to Yahoo Answers) then you will have to find a better deal. Some companies offer prices as low as 9.95 a month, if you look for a while (.9345seconds) on any search engine I'm sure you will find a great price for broadband.
Remember: Cheap does not equal Good.
Let me say it again: Cheap NO ES always good.
Unless service has nothing to do whatever you use the internet for, then you should look for the best service that is offered for a price you are willing to pay.

I would not think of terms of every day, as much as speed. Do you merely surf or do you download alot. The speed matters according to what you are doing. To save money you could get dial-up or DSL, but you will lose speed.
Another option would to go to free hotspots. Find out when they are not busy and get on-line. However those lattes may end up costing more than your service.

Well, how does your service compare to theirs. You may have a faster connection. I would go over to their house/apartment and see how fast their connection runs before you pull the plug on your current service provider.
